“I’ve been searching for form, I was getting fed up” Jos Buttler opens up on his struggle after winning the 2nd ODI against West Indies.

England captain Jos Buttler expressed his discontent with his recent cricket performance following a noteworthy half-century during the second ODI against the West Indies in Antigua.

Buttler’s struggles with the bat had been apparent since the 2023 World Cup, where he failed to achieve a single half-century. His lackluster form persisted, with a single-figure score in the first ODI against the West Indies. However, in the second match, he managed to make a comeback, scoring a commendable 45-ball 58, aiding England in leveling the series.

Post-game, the Lancashire cricketer openly shared his frustration, acknowledging his dissatisfaction with his recent performances.

“I’ve been searching for form. I have had moments where it has been frustrating. I was getting fed up with it so it was time to put in a performance and get back to the player that I know I am,” said Buttler.

Despite the challenges, England showcased resilience after a subpar bowling display in the previous match. In the second ODI, they successfully limited the West Indies to a total of 202 runs. Sam Curran played a pivotal role in this turnaround, claiming three crucial wickets after an expensive performance in the first game where he went wicketless while conceding 98 runs in 9.5 overs.
