Jaiswal, Rinku , Jitesh In For West Indies Tour And Pujara And Umesh Likely To Drop From Test Setup; According To Reports.

Following the conclusion of the WTC Finals, the Indian Cricket team is now faced with a challenging task. Their upcoming cricket engagements involve a 2-match Test series and white-ball cricket against the West Indies. Recent reports suggest that senior players such as Cheteshwar Pujara and Umesh Yadav may not be part of this tour. The primary reason behind this potential exclusion stems from India’s consecutive losses in the WTC Finals. The senior players in the squad failed to deliver, resulting in a comprehensive 209-run defeat against a formidable Australian side. As a result, the selection committee is contemplating the inclusion of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mukesh Kumar as replacements. This decision is part of their efforts to prepare a new batch of players for more demanding assignments.

The Indian team is scheduled for a month-long tour of the West Indies, commencing on July 12. The tour will kick off with two Test matches, followed by three ODIs and five T20Is. For these limited-overs fixtures, a completely revamped team led by Hardik Pandya will take the field. The performances of players in the Indian Premier League (IPL) are likely to be rewarded, as they may be given the opportunity to showcase their skills in international cricket.

So the Major talking points for West Indies series selection:-

-Place of Pujara & Umesh in Tests.

– Jaiswal & Mukesh for Tests.

– IPL performers are likely to get rewarded with T20I selection.

– Jaiswal, Ruturaj, Rinku, Jitesh for T20I.

– Youngsters core to continue in T20I under Hardik.
