Jasprit Bumrah starts preparation for South Africa Tests.
Star Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is set to make a comeback to international cricket following a well-deserved break after the conclusion of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
Bumrah’s remarkable performance in the prestigious tournament positioned him as India’s second-highest wicket-taker, trailing only behind Mohammad Shami. His exceptional ability to swing the ball early on and unsettle opposition batsmen during the initial powerplay significantly contributed to India’s success in the competition.
After opting to rest during the victorious five-match T20I series against Australia, where India emerged triumphant with a 4-1 score, Bumrah is now preparing for his return in a two-match Test series against South Africa.
The renowned Indian pacer made a stellar comeback in the white-ball format following his recovery from back surgery. Leading the team in the Ireland T20I series, Bumrah showcased outstanding captaincy and delivered sensational spells during the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. In the final against Australia, his bowling prowess was evident as he narrowly missed dismissing Travis Head, who eventually earned the player of the match title.
This upcoming Test series against South Africa marks Bumrah’s return to the longest format of the game since July 2022 when he captained the side against England, falling just short of a victory.
