Jitesh Sharma Wanted To Become Airforce Officer Not A Cricketer, Exams Made Him Play Cricket.
The story of Jitesh Sharma is truly unique. Despite never having an interest in cricket, he pursued it until his 10th grade in order to receive extra marks on his boards, which would help him qualify for the NDA exam and become an airforce officer. However, fate had other plans for him.Sharma never had a childhood coach and instead taught himself how to play cricket by watching videos on YouTube, primarily those of Adam Gilchrist and Sourav Ganguly.
Despite his lack of interest in the sport, he began playing cricket in order to receive the extra marks that players who had played at the state level were eligible for in Maharashtra.Sharma’s desire to join the airforce never wavered, but his passion for cricket did begin to grow as he played more and more.
He eventually caught the eye of Mumbai Indians, a team in the Indian Premier League, and was signed to play for them. This opportunity was a game-changer for Sharma, who went on to make his debut in the IPL .
