KL Rahul showcased his batting prowess in India’s first innings against South Africa in the opening Test at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Day 2. The right-handed batsman reached a century, scoring 101 runs off 137 balls, featuring four sixes and 14 boundaries. This marked his eighth Test century, with seven achieved away from home. The highlight occurred in the 66th over when Gerald Coetzee delivered a fuller-length ball, and Rahul, clearing his front leg, dispatched it over deep mid-wicket for a six.

Celebrating the achievement, Rahul removed his helmet, raised his bat towards the dressing room, and kissed his helmet while the crowd applauded. This century followed his previous ton at Centurion, scoring 123 during the 2021-22 tour, contributing to India’s victory in that game by 113 runs. Rahul concluded the three-match series with a total of 226 runs at an average of 37.67, including one century and a fifty.
