Kl Rahul set to miss first two matches of Asia Cup 2023.
All attention was focused on the return of renowned Indian batsman KL Rahul, who had been contending with a hamstring injury. The proficient batsman sustained an injury to his right leg during a match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 1. Following this setback, Rahul was absent for the remainder of IPL 2023 as well as the World Test Championship final against Australia.
Regrettably, the 31-year-old’s comeback during the Asia Cup 2023 has encountered a significant obstacle. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made an announcement on August 29th, revealing that Rahul will not be able to participate in India’s initial two matches of the Asia Cup 2023. India’s opening matches are against Nepal and Pakistan. The Indian team is scheduled to face Pakistan on September 2nd in their inaugural Asia Cup 2023 encounter.
