Under the leadership of Rishabh Pant, the team encountered a challenging phase, concluding the season in the ninth position with just five victories in 14 league matches. Despite the setbacks, there is a glimmer of hope as Pant, who faced life-threatening injuries in a December 2022 car crash, is steadily recovering.

Recent updates indicate Pant’s active involvement in a training camp with DC in Kolkata, closely supervised by coaching stalwarts Ricky Ponting, Pravin Amre, and Sourav Ganguly. With an eye on their maiden IPL title, DC has retained 16 players and now possesses a purse of Rs 28.95 crore for the upcoming auction.
