LSG Makes Qualification Case Stronger, Defeats SRH By 7 Wickets.
The Lucknow Super Giants secured an impressive victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2023 clash held in Hyderabad on Saturday. The LSG put up a remarkable batting display, chasing down the target of 183 runs with four balls to spare, winning the match by seven wickets. Nicholas Pooran played an outstanding innings, smashing an unbeaten 44 off just 13 balls at a strike-rate of 338.46. Prerak Mankad also contributed significantly with an unbeaten 64 off 45 balls, and Marcus Stoinis smashed 40 runs off 25 balls
Although the LSG got off to a slow start, the match turned in their favor in the 16th over, bowled by part-time spinner Abhishek Sharma. Stoinis and Pooran went on a rampage, hitting the spinner for five sixes and taking 31 runs off the over. Lucknow’s impressive display with the bat was the key to their victory.
In the first innings, the Sunrisers put up a good fight, scoring a stiff total of 182/6. Henrich Klaasen and Abdul Samad played impressive innings, adding 58 runs from 40 balls. Klaasen top-scored with 47 runs off 29 balls, while Samad remained unbeaten on 37 runs off 25 balls, which included one boundary and four maximums. Krunal Pandya was the pick of the bowlers for Lucknow, picking up two wickets and conceding only 24 runs in his four overs.
