Mohammed Shami set to miss the South Africa Test Series.

In the upcoming two-match Test series against South Africa starting on December 26 at Centurion, it appears that veteran Indian pacer Mohammed Shami may not be in action. Cricbuzz reports suggest that Shami, along with senior players Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah, will not be on the flight to South Africa. Instead, Navdeep Saini and Harshit Rana are expected to travel with the senior players.

Shami has reportedly been dealing with pain in his right ankle, particularly while landing, and endured this discomfort during the World Cup. The BCCI has emphasized that Shami’s inclusion in the squad hinges on his complete fitness. The replacement for Shami in the Test squad remains uncertain, but India has various options with the A side, as well as the T20I and ODI squads already present in South Africa.
