“No disrespect meant in that photo at all” – Mitchell Marsh gives clarification on his viral feet on World Cup Trophy image.

Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has addressed the recent controversy surrounding his decision to place his feet on top of the World Cup trophy. After Australia’s impressive victory over hosts India in the 2023 World Cup final, a photo capturing Marsh’s unconventional celebration quickly went viral, sparking a global conversation.

In a recent interview with SEN, Marsh clarified his intentions and defended his actions, asserting that he harbored no disrespect towards the prestigious trophy.

Marsh said “There was obviously no disrespect meant in that photo at all. I havenโ€™t given it too much thought, I havenโ€™t seen a lot on social media even though everyone tells me itโ€™s gone off. Thereโ€™s nothing in that.”

The Western Australia-born cricketer acknowledged the widespread attention and expressed his understanding of the disappointment voiced by Indian pacer Mohammed Shami.
