India clinched the five-match Test series against England with a commanding 4-1 victory, sealing the deal with a resounding innings and 64 runs win in the fifth Test at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on Saturday, March 09.

The series took an unexpected turn initially when India found themselves trailing 0-1 after the first game, where the Ben Stokes-led England side staged a remarkable comeback despite being 190 runs behind in the first innings.

Following the setback in the opening Test, captain Rohit Sharma rallied a depleted Indian squad, missing key players like KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja, and led them to a decisive 106-run victory in the second Test held in Visakhapatnam.

Although Rohit’s individual performance in the first two games was below expectations, with scores of 24, 39, 14, and 13. Fans and formers players launched a scathing attack on the Indian skipper, questioning his age and suggesting he was past his prime.

However, the 36-year-old responded emphatically, staging a remarkable comeback with centuries in Rajkot and Dharamsala.In the wake of India’s comprehensive series win, Rohit addressed his retirement plans, indicating that he would gracefully retire from the game if he feels his performance doesn’t meet the required standards.
