“One who is hailing me today was abusing me some months back”- KL Rahul talks upon social media trolls.

Star Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul has stirred diverse opinions about his cricket prowess. Despite garnering praise for stellar performances, Rahul has been subjected to unwarranted trolling on social media during his less successful moments.

In the ongoing Test against South Africa at Centurion, the right-hander answered his critics emphatically with a remarkable century on Day 2.

Rather than engaging in a verbal spat with trolls, Rahul prefers to let his bat speak for him. Reflecting on the matter during a post-match media interaction on December 27, he was asked if he ever contemplated responding to social media trolls.

Rahul said “What will I achieve [by] doing that? Logon ko jo bolna hoga bolenge [People will say what they want to]. If you are a public performer, performance is your only yardstick to stay away from criticism.”

“One who is hailing me today was abusing me some months back. Anyone who says he isn’t affected by comments on social media is lying. But the more you stay away, the better it is for your mindset.”
