In IPL 2023 clash at Dharamsala on Wednesday, the valiant effort of Liam Livingstone was in vain as the Delhi Capitals emerged victorious, defeating the Punjab Kings by 15 runs. Livingstone played a remarkable innings, scoring 94 off just 48 deliveries, but his team fell short in their pursuit of the formidable target of 214, managing to post only 198/8 on the scoreboard. Another notable contribution came from Atharva Taide, who scored a well-deserved half-century before voluntarily retiring out at 55(42).

Delhi Capitals, after being put in to bat first, showcased an impressive display with the bat, amassing a colossal total of 213/2 in their allotted 20 overs. Rilee Rossouw played a commanding innings, remaining unbeaten on 82 off 37 balls. His innings included six boundaries and an equal number of maximums. Additionally, Prithvi Shaw, who made a smashing return to the XI, lived up to the expectations by scoring a quickfire 54 off 38 deliveries.

Despite Livingstone’s heroic effort, Delhi Capitals’ formidable total proved too much for Punjab Kings to overcome. The Delhi Capitals’ bowlers put up a commendable performance, restricting the Punjab Kings to a total below the target. Although Livingstone and Taide showcased their skills, their efforts couldn’t steer the team to victory.
