Ravindra Jadeja likely to miss 3rd Test against England, Shami ruled out too.
Star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is facing the likelihood of missing the third Test against England, set to commence on February 15 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. Jadeja’s absence from the second Test, scheduled for February 02 in Visakhapatnam, was confirmed following a hamstring injury sustained during Day 4 of the first Test in Hyderabad.
After the injury, Jadeja initiated rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru starting January 30, consistently updating fans on his recovery progress. However, recent reports suggest a longer recovery period than initially anticipated. According to Cricbuzz, Jadeja may require four to eight weeks to fully heal, making it improbable for him to be fit for the fourth Test in Ranchi from February 23 to 27.
Additionally, concerns surround the availability of seamer Shami, who is presently in London with no updates regarding his surgery for an ankle injury. Reports indicate Shami is undergoing treatment with injections and is unlikely to participate in the remaining matches of the series against England.
Apart from Jadeja and Shami, there is ambiguity regarding the availability of Virat Kohli, with Cricbuzz mentioning the former India captain’s absence from the country without further details.
