Rinku Singh Again Becomes Hero For KKR To Defeat PBKS By 5 Wickets

PBKS got off to a fast start, scoring 58 runs while having a power play. But during that time, they also lost Liam Livingstone, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, and Prabhsimran Singh. In the middle overs, Shikhar Dhawan and Jitesh Sharma set up a 53-run partnership for the third wicket to stabilise Punjab’s innings. Dhawan played an important innings, getting 57 runs off of 47 balls before being bowled out by Nitish Rana of KKR.

Up until the final two overs of their innings, when Shahrukh Khan and Harpreet Brar gave PBKS a much-needed boost, they had trouble maintaining momentum. In those two overs, the pair scored 36 runs, with Shahrukh Khan finishing unbeaten on 21 off 8 pitches and Harpreet Brar scoring 17 off 9 pitches. Punjab Kings eventually scored 179/7 runs.

KKR struggled to get going during the powerplay in response, and as a result, they needed more than 50 runs to win in the final five overs. But with three sixes in the 19th over, Andre Russell completely altered the course of the match. All of a sudden, KKR only needed six runs to win off the final over. Arshdeep Singh ensured that it came down to the final ball despite the pressure, and Rinku Singh smashed a four off it to help KKR cross the finish line.
