Rohit Sharma appreciates Mohammad Siraj saying “He’s taken such a giant step.”
Team India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, took a moment to appreciate the remarkable performance of fast bowler Mohammed Siraj during the second Test against the West Indies in Trinidad. Siraj’s spectacular five-wicket haul in the first innings was a crucial factor in India’s commanding position in the match.
During the morning session of Day 4, Siraj showcased an impressive display of fast bowling, as the West Indies batsmen struggled to handle his fiery deliveries. The visitors managed to wrap up the remaining wickets of the West Indies for a mere 26 runs. While Mukesh Kumar initiated the breakthrough by taking the first wicket with the second new ball, it was Mohammed Siraj who stole the limelight by taking four more wickets, finishing with an outstanding figure of 5/60. This performance stands as the best-ever in his Test cricket career.
Rohit Sharma said “Siraj, I have been watching him closely. He’s taken such a giant step. He has led this attack. I don’t want anyone to lead the attack. I want everyone to lead when they are having the ball in their hand. You want the entire pace battery taking the responsibility.”
