“Shahid Afridi broke TV because his daughter was performing puja, imagine what he would do to me”, says former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria.

Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria has made bold claims about his former teammate and ex-captain Shahid Afridi, accusing him of ill-treatment. Kaneria has once again garnered attention with his outspoken statements regarding the discrimination he faced from team members during his time with the Pakistan cricket team. In a video posted by Kaneria, he criticized Afridi for the way he treated him, both on and off the pitch.

Kaneria alleged that Shahid Afridi once broke a TV because his daughter was performing Pooja. Kaneria questioned Afridi’s treatment of him, given how he behaved in a particular situation with his own daughter. Kaneria, who is the highest wicket-taking spinner in Pakistan’s history, previously accused several players, including Afridi, of pressuring him to convert to Islam.

In one of his interviews, Kaneria stated, “I was doing well in my career and was playing county cricket too. Inzamam-ul-Haq supported me a lot and was the only captain who did so, alongside him, Shoaib Akhtar.”

Kaneria continued, “Shahid Afridi and many other Pakistan players troubled me a lot and didn’t eat with me. They used to talk about conversion, but my religion is everything to me. Shahid Afridi was the main person telling me to convert and did so multiple times. Inzamam-ul-Haq never used to talk that way,” as revealed in a recent interview.

It’s important to note that Kaneria represented Pakistan in 61 Test matches and 18 ODI games, where he took 261 and 15 wickets, respectively. In 2012, he was convicted of spot-fixing, resulting in a ban from professional cricket.
