Shikhar Dhawan trolls Pakistan fielding in the ongoing World Cup 2023 warm match against Australia.

Pakistan is currently engaged in their second and final warm-up match against Australia in Hyderabad, marking the last preparation game before their inaugural World Cup clash against the Netherlands, scheduled for October 6

In their earlier warm-up encounter, the Men In Green faced defeat against New Zealand, which has now put them in the position of chasing a substantial target in their second warm-up fixture. This situation does, however, offer a silver lining as it provides ample opportunity for their top-order batsmen to regain form prior to the main tournament.

Unfortunately, Pakistan’s fielding woes resurfaced during this warm-up game. The team has often struggled with dropped catches, and in this instance, an incident involving Mohammad Wasim and Mohammad Nawaz highlighted their fielding challenges. During the 23rd over of Australia’s innings, bowled by Haris Rauf, Marnus Labuschagne played a shot toward the leg-side region. Although the outfield was swift in Hyderabad, it appeared that the deep-fielding players could have easily prevented the boundary.

Mohammad Wasim Jr. and Mohammad Nawaz were the two fielders tasked with chasing down the ball. In an almost comical fashion, both fielders abandoned the pursuit simultaneously, presuming that the other would intercept the ball.

Regrettably, the ball managed to slip between them, with neither making an effort to save the boundary. This left the bowler, Haris Rauf, visibly dissatisfied as Labuschagne collected four runs from the episode.

Observing this sequence of events, Shikhar Dhawan couldn’t resist making a playful comment about Pakistan’s fielding. Taking to X, he humorously quipped, “Pakistan & fielding, a never-ending love story.”
