A driver from Hyderabad approached Mohammad Siraj in March after losing huge money in betting during India Vs Australia ODI Series. He asked Siraj for inside information, Siraj reported the approach to the Anti-Corruption Unit of BCCI.

According to a highly-placed source with the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU), an individual had sent messages on WhatsApp to cricketer Mohammed Siraj, seeking help after incurring losses from betting. The person had allegedly asked the pacer for assistance in resolving the situation.The source revealed that Siraj promptly informed the ACU about the approach and the matter is now being investigated. The BCCI has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards corruption in the sport and takes all such incidents very seriously.
