“Still waiting like an idiot!”, fan gets angry over BCCI and BookMyShow for crashing sale of World Cup tickets.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have collaboratively entered into a partnership with Mastercard, outlining a strategic plan wherein a specific allocation of ODI World Cup tickets, particularly for India’s matches, was scheduled to be released for purchase on August 29 exclusively for Mastercard holders. The official ticketing partner of BCCI, BookMyShow, however, encountered challenges in meeting this target, leading to substantial disappointment expressed by numerous fans across various social media platforms.
Subsequently, after grappling with initial obstacles, BookMyShow eventually managed to regain control of the situation. Unfortunately, this respite was short-lived as fans encountered further frustration when attempting to secure their tickets. Lengthy queues and escalating timers left prospective buyers disheartened, adding to the mounting dissatisfaction in the process.
Fans, who have already experienced setbacks stemming from the delays in the commencement of ticket sales (in contrast, the ticketing process for the 2011 World Cup had initiated almost a year prior), are currently grappling with the additional challenges posed by several adjustments to the schedule. In light of these circumstances, the collective sentiment among fans is one of frustration and disappointment.
