“That is the biggest load of rubbish I’ve ever seen.”, Glenn McGrath gets angry over Mitchell Starc’s Decision.
During the fourth day of the second Ashes Test at Lord’s, just moments before the close of play, England opener Duckett found himself in a precarious situation when he attempted to fend off a bouncer from Australian pacer Cameron Green. The ball soared towards deep fine leg, where Mitchell Starc positioned himself to claim what seemed to be a catch.
To everyone’s surprise, the third umpire reviewed the footage and deemed that Starc had not taken the catch cleanly. It was determined that while sliding after the catch, Starc had dragged the ball along the turf, casting doubt on the legitimacy of the catch. As a result, Duckett was given a reprieve and continued his innings, finishing the day unbeaten on 50*. England, at that point, were 114/4 in pursuit of a challenging target of 371.

Following the third umpire’s decision, former Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath expressed his strong disapproval, labeling it a disgrace.
Glenn McGrath on BBC said “That is the biggest load of rubbish I’ve ever seen. He has got that ball under control … if that is not out, then every other catch that’s ever been taken should not be out. That is a disgrace.”.
