‘They will bring Starc in for Boland’: Tim Paine Believes Starc Will Return In The XI For 2nd Test.

Australia made a surprising decision by excluding Mitchell Starc from the Ashes opener in Birmingham, opting to include Josh Hazlewood instead. Despite their victory in the first Test, former Australian captain Tim Paine believes Starc will be considered for the second Test.

While Australia emerged victorious in a thrilling contest at Edgbaston, there have been concerns regarding the performances of Josh Hazlewood and Scott Boland. The duo only managed to secure a total of five wickets throughout the entire match.

Tim Paine, former Australian captain, anticipates the return of Mitchell Starc for the second Test at Lord’s, with Scott Boland likely to make way for the seasoned left-arm fast bowler. Paine clarified that Boland’s exclusion in the second Test is more due to the rotation of bowlers rather than their form.

Tim Paine said “It’s critical when you are playing in a five-match series, we are playing six Test matches in six weeks, so there is no doubt that those fast bowlers are going to be rotated. I think they will bring Starc in for Boland. Again not dropping Scott Boland, he has been unbelievable but we need all of these bowlers to play a role at some stage in these Ashes. I think the only guy they will try and get through the five Tests is obviously our captain Pat Cummins,”
