‘Three would be a nice pass and four is probably a tick’ Josh Hazlewood Ahead Of Ashes 2023.
Josh Hazlewood made his final appearance in Test cricket against South Africa in January at the Sydney Cricket Ground. However, he had a limited participation in IPL 2023, featuring in only three matches due to his recovery from an Achilles injury. Unfortunately, Hazlewood was unable to participate in the World Test Championship final last week because he had not fully recuperated from a side strain he suffered during the IPL.
Nonetheless, Hazlewood is determined to contribute to the upcoming Ashes series, and Australia can count on his services. The 32-year-old seamer has expressed optimism about playing in at least three out of the five matches in the series. He has made himself available for the series opener, set to take place at Edgbaston on June 16, and provided an update on his fitness, indicating the number of matches he hopes to participate in.
Josh Hazelwood said “If we go back a few years, I would have said (I wanted to play) all six (matches). But I guess it’s a little bit different now, based on the last two years. Three would be a nice pass and four is probably a tick. Any more than that is great, any less then I am probably a little disappointed again,”
