“Virat Kohli will be India’s key player along with Rohit Sharma for Asia Cup and ODI World Cup”, says Sourav Ganguly.

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has underscored the significance of Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma in anticipation of the upcoming Asia Cup and the highly awaited 2023 ODI World Cup. It is noteworthy that the Indian team is slated to commence their Asia Cup journey against traditional rivals Pakistan at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy on September 2.

Prior to the commencement of the continental tournament, Ganguly has expressed his viewpoint on the team’s composition, emphasizing that Kohli and skipper Rohit will assume pivotal roles as the mainstay players for Team India in both the Asia Cup and the prestigious ICC event.

Ganguly to Revsportz said “He’s (Virat Kohli) playing very well, there is no question about it. He will be India’s strength, key player, along with Rohit Sharma. Rohit’s form will be equally important. Last World Cup (2019) he got five hundreds, that’s unbelievable performance.”

Ganguly moreover added “And probably this is his first and last World Cup as captain, he might still do it in the T20 World Cup but for the ODI event, there is still four years and I don’t think he’ll be playing in another few years. Everyone will be important, and I hope they stand up and perform.”
