In the semifinals of the 2024 U19 World Cup in Benoni on Tuesday, February 6, India secured a thrilling victory over South Africa by two wickets, thanks to a resilient performance with both bat and ball.

Facing a target of 245, Sachin Das and captain Uday Saharan displayed exceptional batting prowess, forging a crucial 171-run partnership for the fifth wicket, rescuing India from a precarious position of 32/4. Das led the charge with a stellar knock of 96 runs off 95 balls, featuring one maximum and 11 boundaries, while Saharan contributed 81 runs off 124 deliveries, including six boundaries.

For the Proteas, Kwena Maphaka and Tristan Luus were the standout bowlers, each claiming three wickets.

Earlier in the match, South Africa posted a competitive total of 244/7 after being asked to bat first. Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Richard Seletswane led the charge with the bat, with Pretorius scoring 76 runs off 102 balls, including three sixes and six boundaries, while Seletswane contributed 64 runs off 100 deliveries, with two sixes and four boundaries.

Raj Limbai emerged as the top performer with the ball for India, finishing with figures of 3/60, while Musheer Khan picked up two wickets in a disciplined bowling effort.
