In the ongoing ODI match between Australia and South Africa at the North Sydney Oval on Saturday, February 10, Australian cricketer Alana King found herself in the midst of a bewildering and situation during the latter part of the first innings.

During an encounter with South African pacer Masabata Klaas, it appeared as though King had been dismissed when she dislodged the bails with her bat after hitting a full toss behind square leg. However, the confusion arose as the delivery was deemed to be above waist height, prompting the square leg umpire to signal a no-ball. Consequently, the potential hit-wicket dismissal became irrelevant. Instead, King was credited with six runs for sending the ball beyond the boundary, and she also earned a free hit due to the waist-high no-ball.

The facial expressions of both the Australian batters and Masabata Klaas vividly conveyed the perplexity surrounding the incident.
