India batter Shubman Gill appeared poised to secure his 4th Test century when a regrettable mix-up with Kuldeep Yadav led to his dismissal. With India building a substantial lead nearing 400 runs against England on Day 4 of the third Test in Rajkot, Gill was pivotal to the hosts’ strategy. However, while batting on 91, the promising young player fell victim to a misguided call in the middle, depriving him of a century by just 9 runs. Gill understandably felt disheartened to see himself depart so close to achieving the three-figure milestone.
Despite Gill’s desperate attempt with a dive to reach the other end of the pitch, he was found inches short of regaining his ground. Reflecting on the decision that prompted him to pursue a single, the batter expressed his disappointment visibly, shaking his head and even gesturing frustration with his bat.
