(Watch)Indian Team felicites Ravichandran Ashwin with a special cap and guard of honor on for 100th Test.
Ahead of his 100th Test match in Dharamshala, India’s head coach Rahul Dravid presented a commemorative cap to veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, with his family joining in the ceremony. Indian players were seen applauding in the background as well.
The Rohit Sharma-led side also honored Ashwin with a guard of honor before the day’s play commenced. Ashwin’s remarkable career stats speak volumes about his prowess, having claimed 507 wickets in 99 Test matches at an impressive average of 23.91. He stands as one of the legends of the game, trailing only behind Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne, and Anil Kumble in the list of most wickets taken by a spinner in Test cricket history.

During the toss, skipper Rohit Sharma hailed Ashwin as one of the key pillars of Indian cricket,saying “Ash (Ashwin) has been a real stalwart of Indian cricket. Such a proud moment for him, his nation and the family. We will be rooting for him to do the magic.”
Meanwhile, England’s Jonny Bairstow is also celebrating his 100th Test match in Dharamshala. The wicketkeeper-batsman expressed his joy, attributing his success to his mother, who bravely fought and survived cancer twice.
