(Watch)Kane Williamson equals Steve Smith’s Test centuries to share the record of most Test centuries among current batters.

New Zealand’s batting stalwart Kane Williamson has matched Australia’s Steve Smith’s impressive record of 32 Test centuries, achieving the feat on Day 4 of the Test match against South Africa in Hamilton. Williamson reached this milestone in just 172 innings, making him the fastest player to do so.

The historic moment occurred during the 74th over of the innings when Williamson guided a delivery from Shaun van Berg to deep point, carefully maneuvering himself to 100 after patiently waiting for a few deliveries on 99. This century also marked his seventh consecutive hundred in as many matches for the former Black Caps captain.

Here is the moment when Kan Williamson reached his hundred.

Starting the day at 40-1, New Zealand had a target of 267 runs to chase. Despite losing Devon Conway early on Day 3, they managed to weather the storm. Although David Bedingham showcased a remarkable performance with a century for South Africa, their batting lineup collapsed dramatically from 213-5 to 235 all out, making the target of 300 seem very achievable for New Zealand.
