“Whole of India misses Mahi bhai” – Shubman Gill’s pays tribute to MS Dhoni ahead of 4th Test at Ranchi.
Young Indian cricketer Shubman Gill expressed a heartfelt tribute to MS Dhoni ahead of the fourth Test against England, which is scheduled to take place in Dhoni’s hometown of Ranchi. Gill emphasized that regardless of the location of the match, Dhoni’s absence is felt deeply by cricket enthusiasts across the nation.
The fourth Test between India and England will be held at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi, commencing on Friday, February 23. With the hosts leading 2-1 in the five-match series, they aim to secure an insurmountable advantage by clinching victory in the fourth Test.
During a press conference preceding the Ranchi Test, Gill was asked to share his sentiments regarding Dhoni, given the significance of the match being played in his hometown.
Gill said “The whole of India misses Mahi bhai a lot. It doesn’t matter where you play, in Ranchi or anywhere else.”
Despite retiring from international cricket in 2020, MS Dhoni remains an iconic figure in Indian cricket. His enduring popularity is evident, and he is eagerly awaited by fans as he gears up to participate in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. Notably, Dhoni led the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to a historic fifth title victory in the 2023 IPL season.
