‘You have Rahul Dravid as a coach, what else do you want?’- Mohammad Kaif on Indian Team missing Ms Dhoni in winning ICC Tournaments.

Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif has emphasized that the current Indian team, with Rahul Dravid as the head coach, should not feel the absence of MS Dhoni. Dhoni, who captained the Indian team from 2007 to 2016, led them to several significant victories, including the T20 World Cup in 2007, the ODI World Cup in 2011, and the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.

Since Dhoni’s departure from international cricket, India has been unable to secure an ICC trophy in the last decade, leading to discussions about the team missing Dhoni’s presence. However, Kaif believes that the team should not rely on Dhoni’s absence as an excuse anymore. With Rahul Dravid as the current head coach, India has a capable leader who can provide similar guidance and support.

Kaif also mentioned that while Dhoni’s contributions to major tournaments were remarkable, the team now has other experienced players who can step up. He specifically mentioned Rohit Sharma, who has the required experience and leadership qualities to guide the team forward in ICC tournaments.

Mohammad Kaif said “Dhoni has done well. I believe the likes of Rohit Sharma and all these guys are good captains. You have Rahul Dravid as a coach, what else do you want? Ya, you miss Dhoni because he has done so well in ICC events but I think someone like Rohit Sharma can take the team forward. He has got the players and the team to win ICC events,”
