“India’s young guns prove they don’t need Virat, Bumrah and Shami to win test series” :Sunil Gavaskar on India defeating England without experience.
In the ongoing five-match IND vs ENG Test series, India is showcasing their strength even in the absence of key players. Despite missing prominent names like Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja due to various reasons such as personal commitments, injuries, and rest, the young talents have stepped up admirably.
With India leading 3-1 after four games, it’s evident that the team’s depth and resilience are coming to the fore. Sunil Gavaskar, a former Indian cricketer, emphasized that what India requires isn’t just big names but also a big heart to clinch victories. He expressed no surprise at the team’s success, highlighting the belief in their abilities and collective spirit.
Gavaskar said “It is not surprising that India has clinched the series. We did it in Australia with young players. India can’t avoid big names (Virat, Shami, Bumrah, Rahul) from winning matches. A big heart is needed, and if you have that, you will match.”
“If you have a dream to play for India, then there is enough talent in the country and that can lead you to victories.”
