“See…we ran them close” :Aakash Chopra slams English median after England losses the Test Series against India.

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has criticized the British media for their response following England’s defeat against the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team in a Test series. The series concluded with India winning 3-1, securing victory in the fourth Test in Ranchi by five wickets.

Despite putting up a commendable performance, especially in challenging India during parts of the series, England faltered in the second innings of the final Test, posting a score of 145 which ultimately led to their downfall.

Although England had opportunities to seize control of the game, they were unable to contain the Indian batsmen, allowing them to build a substantial lead. Despite being 171/7 in the first innings, India’s lower-order, spearheaded by Dhruv Jurel and Kuldeep Yadav, propelled the team to a total of 307.

While India encountered some challenges during their chase of 192 runs for victory, losing five crucial wickets with the score at 120, Shubman Gill and Jurel displayed resilience, guiding their team to a successful conclusion.

Aakash Chopra questioned the British media’s reaction, suggesting that they failed to address the core issues behind England’s defeat.

Aakash Chopra worte “England lost many ‘absolutely critical’ phases in this Test series…phases where they needed to simply consolidate their position. Phases where they needed to build on the advantage.“But that’s the not the narrative that sells…what sells with the British media is that ‘Nobody gave us a chance’ ‘Nobody beats India in India’ ‘See…we ran them close’. English middle-order (barring Pope and Root in one innings each) has capitulated on good pitches. Address that elephant in the room…but for that first admit that there’s an elephant in the room 🙌 #IndvEng.”

Despite England starting the series with a 28-run victory in Hyderabad, India bounced back strongly, securing convincing wins by 106 and 434 runs in Vizag and Rajkot respectively
