Royal Challengers Bangalore Women (RCB-W) made a resounding start to their Womenโ€™s Premier League (WPL) 2024 campaign with a thrilling victory over UP Warriorz (UP-W) in Match 2 on Saturday, February 24 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The match witnessed RCB-W defending a total of 158 runs, clinching the win by a narrow margin of two runs, thanks to a nerve-wracking final over bowled by Sophie Molineux.

Despite a shaky start, UP-W showed resilience in their chase. However, they faltered at 49/3 before a commendable partnership between Shweta Sehrawat (31 off 25) and Grace Harris (38 off 23) revived their hopes with a 77-run stand. The momentum seemed to shift towards UP-W until wrist spinner Sobhana Asha’s remarkable triple-wicket over turned the tide back in favor of RCB-W. Asha’s pivotal performance in that over proved to be the game-changer, ultimately securing the victory for RCB-W.
