Rohit’s leadership prowess has been instrumental in guiding MI to an impressive tally of five IPL titles (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020). Under his captaincy, MI achieved a remarkable record of 87 victories in 158 matches, boasting a commendable win percentage of 55.06. Only MS Dhoni, the captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), surpasses Rohit in terms of most wins in the T20 tournament, with 133 victories.
Not only a formidable captain, but Rohit also stands out as a prolific player in the IPL, boasting the highest number of titles won (five with MI and one with Deccan Chargers). With the bat, the right-handed batsman has amassed an impressive tally of 6211 runs in 243 matches, maintaining a striking strike rate of 130.05. His batting prowess includes one century and 42 half-centuries. Additionally, Rohit has showcased his bowling skills by clinching 15 wickets in the tournament, including a memorable hat-trick.
Despite his illustrious career, Rohit faced a slump in his last two IPL seasons, managing just 600 runs at an average of 20. However, his recent stellar performance as the captain of the Indian Test team, leading them to a resounding 4-1 series victory over England, highlights his unwavering cricketing prowess. During the Test series, Rohit exhibited exemplary batting form, accumulating 400 runs in nine innings at an impressive average of 44.44, including four half-centuries.
